Women's Health and Fertility Specialist
Experience and Special Interests
Jo graduated Otago University with a degree in Pharmacy in 1991, and in her fourth year as a student completed a project called ‘Pharmacist as a Herbalist’ which sparked her interest in herbal medicine. From here, the rest is history with Jo retraining as a medical herbalist!
Jo then went on to work, train and then manage the Herbal Dispensary in Christchurch as well as developing a successful private clinic. Jo trained with Francesca Naish, a leading practitioner in preconception care and fertility management; which inspired Jo to specialise in women’s health.
She is a leading New Zealand practitioner working with clients wanting preconception healthcare, or those looking for support with fertility and assisted reproductive treatments. She is also a board member for Fertility NZ, which is a charity dedicated to providing information, support, and advocacy to those experiencing fertility issues.
She enjoys connecting with her clients, both single and couples, hearing their stories, health concerns and worries. Jo loves being part of their journey to improve their health and wellbeing. Nothing brings her more joy than seeing how often small simple changes can have quite a profound effect on someone’s health. With complex fertility cases, the joy to see a baby in the client’s arms is unbeatable!
Jo uses a mix of diet, lifestyle and exercise modifications, as well as herbal and supplemental medicines to support the bodies return to balance. All the while being mindful of each individuals unique situations!
