Making homemade nut butter is a cheap alternative and good way to get creative with flavours too. This recipe requires a high powered food processor and does take a lot of processing to get to a smooth nut butter consistency. But wow it's worth it!
Firstly, roast your peanuts if they aren't already by placing in the oven until browning. Add them to the food processor and blend for 5 minutes straight. The peanuts should go into a fine flour like texture. Scrape down the sides and blend for another 5 minutes. Repeat this process until the mixture starts to get creamier. Add in the hemp seeds and cinnamon and process until you are happy with the consistency. It should be spreadable but not super hard - if your food processor seems to be having a rough time, add in a drizzle of hemp or neutral flavoured oil to help it blend.
