What to expect from your consultation
It may be helpful to know what to expect when you begin seeing a new health practitioner. It is our hope that the following information goes some way towards ensuring that your expectations are met as fully as possible.
Consultations:
You can expect to spend an initial 45 - 60 minutes discussing your health. It is often the detail that sheds the light on the cause of the illness, so I may ask questions about your medical history, family medical history, diet, lifestyle, current medications etc.
Treating the cause of the health issue is always the ultimate goal.
It is important that your progress is monitored, so in most cases I would expect to see you for follow-up, I may also ask you to keep a journal of health developments. You are welcome to ask questions as we go along.
An integrated approach:
Optimal patient care may best be achieved when all parties are informed of treatments being undertaken. I regularly communicate with GP's, specialists and other health professionals (where appropriate) and with your consent.
Up to date information:
I am committed to maintaining a high professional standard in my practice, and dedicate regular time to research and education. I subscribe to and contribute material for professional journals and other publications. This is to ensure my patients are provided with the most effective treatments available.
